That's two hours I can't get back....

Friday, January 8, 2010

Wednesday night I watched The People's Choice Awards.  Why?  Award shows and celebrities always have drama and train wrecks!  That's why.  I was going to post a play by play for you yesterday, but alas, yesterday's post was sponsored by the number 100, and there wasn't time for any programming.  Just the number 100.

Look, 100 paid me big for the spot!  Really. (Totally kidding, it's a number people not a product.) It reminded me of the whole show.  All the sponsors worked their way into the show.  The awards were almost an after thought.  The cast of GLee even served up DiGorno Pizza to the audience while accepting their award for Best New TV Comedy.

There were several WTF? moments.  The biggest being that The Proposal starring Sandra Bullock won for Best Comedy Movie.  What movies were in the category?  Well, The Hangover for starters.  Now, I personally didn't think The Hangover was as funny as others did, but seriously, who the hell are these people voting?  The Proposal?  Really?

Next, let's have a little chat about Mariah Carey shall we?  She won for Best R&B Artist.  But that isn't the WTF?  She was so gacked out, that her hubby had to walk her up to the microphone.  She slurred through her speech like the ghost of Paula Abdul circa American Idol Seasons 1-8.  She called her dress a drama, and shared TMI references to her sex life with Nick Cannon.  Really Mariah?  Wow, you're classy.  FAIL.

There were some normal moments.  Steve Carrell won for Best Comedy Actor!  The Big Bang Theory won for Best Comedy!  Alyson Hannigan won for Best Comedy Actress!

Nicole Scherzinger of PCD rocked the best dress of the night!  George Lopez had the best jokes of the night!  Ashton Kutcher was, well...Ashton.  He webcast his acceptance speech for Best WebCeleb with the statement "Luke had the force, and we have the web."  My little Wolf boy won Best Break Out Star.  Go Taylor Lautner.  And Johnny Depp was awarded Favorite Movie Actor of the Decade.

Now, the best part.  There were two movie trailers during the PCA, that made the whole 2 hours that I can't get back worth watching.  You all know I am kind of a movie buff geek goer.  Well get this.  They are making a ROBIN HOOD movie with Russell Crowe directed by Ridley Scott!  Release date May 14th! *dancing a jig*

and best thing EVER.  The Clash of The Titans (Remake)!  Squeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starring Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson and Sam Worthington
Happy Weekend Lip Smackers!

Hmmmm me thinks Mariah may need to go somewhere and dry out. She was at an event over the weekend where she made a speech completely shit faced. You're right....classy.

Poor Mariah! Can't seem to keep it together.

Anywhore, who am I to judge?

Mariah claims that Ang Lee who presented the award to her, told her some inside jokes from when they did a movie together and that threw her off. Okay.....

Just as I imagined, I didn't miss anything important :)

Robinhood with Russel Crowe? Oooh!

The Hangover was the funniest movie ever.

I can't see how The Proposal beat it...unless they were including the sheer awesomeness of Sandra Bullock's nude scenes.

That should be a category in and of itself.

Mariah was PLASTERED! They should start giving out a Kanye award at these things and she would have taken it home!

I saw Mariah in the Movie "Precious" and the critics were saying how shocked they said that they made her look older... I don't think so, she looks like the average chick that relies on Make-up to look pretty.

Thanks for the award show summary!

We went to a couple movies on break and saw the previews for Robin Hood & Clash of the Titans - they look awesome!

Really? Another Robin Hood? I was just starting to stomach the last one.

I heart The Proposal, mostly because my FEX is in it, but The Hangover - WAY FUNNIER!! Like wiping tears from my eyes funny.

I heart you! Thank you for the birthday wishes!

Now I wish I would have watched.

Hangover was almost as classic as Rat Race.

Although, Sandra Bullock nude always equals WIN in my book.

Can't wait for the remakes.

I would have turned it off as soon as Mariah Carey won something! Anything. I really, truly, cant not stand her!!

And I actually liked The Proposal. Maybe it won because it could be watched by a wider audience than The Hangover??

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for sacrificing the two hours of your life so that I didn't have to. You took one for the team, and I am so thankful.

Can't wait for Clash of the Titans remake - I've watched the trailer dozens of times.

I saw a clip of Mariah and she was gone, completely gone. Product placement has gone THAT obvious, huh?

Oh, I agree with you about The Hangover. I just watched it last night and although I laughed some, I didn't think it was that great.

I saw Mariah on Ellen the other day and she was definitely "on," and I also think she had a boob job. I don't care for her at all.

I also didn't love the Hangover as much as everyone else....and just saw The Proposal last week, which was okay. I do love Sandra Bullock, but it wasn't anything fabulous....

Can't wait to see more of Sam Worthington... have loved him since I saw him in a little Aussie film (Tap Dogs). He reminds me of the kind of guys I grew up with, a bit 'rough around the edges' but lovely!

Hey...Mariah Carey is the DEFINITEION of class, I'll have you know!

I didn't know the Big Bang Theory won something. Now I'm incredibly happy. Thank you for making my day.

Go Big Bang Theory!

I love that my blog pals keep me caught up and clued into the real world. So much of my life is lived while suffering a cranial rectal inversion that I miss a lot of this....

LOVE to you TNT. You're the very breath of me...

wait...

did that sound creepy?

Thanks for the recap!! Was wishing that I saw it but hey I did through your eyes!!

Yeah, I don't get those awards and how they vote. Yikes. I really really do not see the point of another Robin Hood. But maybe if the special effects are good...but Clash of the Titans! Hellz yeah!

It's The People's Choice and The People are morons. End of story.

I didn't get to watch them. I love the Big Bang Theory.

I'm a movie buff/geek/goer too. Love love love my movies. Can't wait for Clash of the Titans!!

I've seen the Mariah video clip on YouTube, and yeah, there isn't much to say for class (she probably didn't expect to win anything if she drank that much) but you've got to give it to her: she's funny when she's drunk! She must be fun at parties!

Other than that, personally I wouldn't even notice if she vanished and disappeared from the face of the earth. And it would have been better to have her on that stage sober. Let's hope she won't make a bigger ass out of herself by publically apologizing!

Mariah Carey was a mess! First of all, wear a friggin' dress that you can actually walk in. And I do not need to know that you are happy with your man/child husband's performance in the bedroom.

Mariah=Britney 2.0. But older.

CLASH OF THE TITANS ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! How cool is that! I loved the original.

Sam Worthington is my friends big brother!

Exactly why I don't watch them. Blech.

I have a award for you over at my blog =)

I didn't catch it but I see Mariah made headlines twice with her slurred ramblings while excepting awards. She's kinda old to be pulling a Britney for attention, doncha think??

Clash of the Titans? Wow, that brings me back...a long, long time. I remember watching that as a kid who was much too young to be watching it!
