Remembering Somer Renee

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

This is a quick post, as my heart is heavy tonight.  My community is grieving a loss that can only be described as senseless.

Remembering Somer Renee

There is no loss that cuts as deep
As when a Mother loses her Keep.
Stolen from a family's love
Now at peace up above.

A brother twin now half a whole,
A mother with a broken soul.
Prayers for one lost so young
You are My Sunshine by a vigil sung.

Struck with grief, every heart so full
The pain it seems will never dull.
There is no answer to the question why?
That one so young has to die.

Keep her safe Lord, show her grace.
Accept her in Thy warm embrace.
And for the family grieving here,
Touch them with Love, and wash away their tears.

All my friends and family.  Please keep our community in your hearts and prayers.  A seven year old little girl went missing Monday, and it appears her body has been recovered from a Landfill site in Georgia.  Her family is experiencing more grief than I think is bearable.

Thanks all!  As always, LOVE!

when i saw the news coverage of this - yet another senseless and the most hideous of crimes, I started to shake, and cry and feel so sad for the family and so much anger for the barbarian who did this. I don't think you can call that type of person human, they are not. They are pure evil and deserve the most horrible possible thing as a punishment. Something that words could not describe. I will continue to pray for her family and your community. this should not happen in our society, it just shouldn't. please hang in there, there in spirit.

You said it - there is no loss that cuts as deep. Truly, there isn't.

I can not even contemplate how anyone could ever deal with something like this. It makes me never want to let me children out of my sight. I hope somehow the family can find peace and happiness in the future.

Brandee,
That poem is beautiful...I hope that you are able to share it w/ the family. I think it is something that would help them during this difficult time.

Brandee,

Beautiful poem. Such a hard time in our community. It really hits close to home when such a horrible crime is committed right down the road. I often think we become too comfortable in life & let our guard down. However, we can't protect our children 24/7. Today a bomb threat was called into one of our local elementary schools. The entire school had to be emptied & parents had to be called. Our poor children are being exposed to so much at such a young age. All we can do is pray & continue to pray for each other and especially these innocent children. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I agree Christy! I held my babies just a little closer than normal this week. I can't even imagine going on without them.

Brandee --- Thank you for sharing your words... beautiful! I too hope that you are able to share this with this family <3. -- It is sad to know we have people in the world like this evil individual and very scary to think that one lives right around the corner in a close community.
Much love to you ~ Alycia

Lovely poem....I am praying for ease of suffering to the parents of this darling child... and a horrible, slow, death to the scum who took her life....
