You know as a Mom to boys your responsibilities to teach them things is easy. You teach them how to talk to women, appreciate women, be kind to women, love them, etc.
But girls? Girls need more than boys. We have to teach our girls all the fine points of being women. So, I am starting early with my little Monkey Princess. It's actually become a point of contention with BDC.
You see, BDC and I seem to have some differences of opinion on what is important to women. I tell him it's pointless to argue with me, I mean, I am a woman. I'm pretty sure THAT makes me an expert.
So here is BDC's rub this week, and our, shall we say....disagreement.
BDC is ridiculously protective over his baby girl. I mean to the point where it's past the point of cute, it's almost nauseating.
I think that it is very important to teach my little darling the importance of looking beautiful and sparkling. So with that in mind...I took the Princess to get some bling.
So, as you can see....in his mind, according to the photographic evidence, I hurt his baby.
I tried to argue that I just taught her a lesson in the finer things in life, ya know, like BLING BABY! However, he thinks I did her a disservice. Whatever. Those earrings are so dang cute! She cried for about 15 seconds. Until I showed her how pretty she looked in the mirror.
Then it was all smiles! Score!
Me - 2 points BDC - 0
(Before you leave me nasty comments about what is and is not important in life and what I teach my children. If you don't know me than just keep moving. This post is all in good fun and my Smackers will know that.)

And she will never remember the fact that it hurt whereas I will always remember it happening when I was 8 years old. I think you can give yourself another point for that.
Aw, she looks sooooo beautiful! And even more so (if that's possible) with her bling on!
Daddy will get over it...eventually. Until she starts asking him for money to buy lots and lots of earrings!
hee hee
She's so freakin' cute!! My hubs would have stroked out. I'm tryin' to teach my girls to marry rich ;)
I'm with Salt on this one. You definitely earn points for saving her from future pain that she will remember forever.
She is gorgeous! And she is clearly so happy to have bling. You can see the sparkle in her eyes. :)
As you know, I had Cayla's ears pierced at 3 months old and she got over it in 15 seconds too.
My niece who 16, is a complete chicken shit to get her ears pierced because she is afraid it will hurt. Wah.
Meh....I think she was more pissed about everyone restraining her more than anything. She does have your blood coursing through her....right?! My guess is she would've told that little ear piercer thingie mabobber to eff off...it was all those hands holding her in place that made her pissy. :)
And she DOES look beautimous!!
She is really growing and such a cutie!!
Gorgeous baby! BDC can suck it! ;]
Really, I could just ditto Salt. At 8, it hurts, and you remember. 25 years later, you remember.
Holy Crap.
Now I feel old.
Poor Leelee! Look at those tears! I'm with BDC on this one! HA!
But dang if she's not cute!
I did the older girls ears when they were one and I'm about to get the baby's done soon - nothing looks cuter than a gorgeous bub with bling!
She is getting cuter by the day!
He should be thankful you didn't get her nose pierced. I jest.
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww she is soo cute with her new earrings.
baby bling..lol.
happy weekend
teaching her all about appreciating bling is very important! You score.
I agree 100% with Salt! I have horrible memories of getting my bling at the ripe old age of 6. If he feels so bad I really think he should buy her some real bling to make up for her 5 seconds of misery. HeeHeeHee
She is getting so big and adorable! Time goes so darn fast!
Tell him it's just a warm-up for the tattoo you're giving her next week. :-)
She's lovely.

I HAD to click the comments to see how many people said "You SCARRED HER!" or "You EVIL person!" or "How DARE you take in to your own hands something that SHE should have decided for HERSELF!"
I am very shocked that no one said it! If I post about grounding my 10year old from the computer, I get hate!
She is beautiful, and I look forward to reading more of you!
