Bliss or Miss....

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Ahhh......you hear that?  That is silence baby!  The children went to school.  The dogs are still sleeping.  I walked back to their kennels and they just looked up at me like "Yeah right!  There is no way we are going outside right now!"  So....I let them go back to sleep(the dogs people, not the children!  Geez!).

I was really stoked about my morning.  I was going to take the boys to school.  Come home, make some breakfast(for myself, I did feed the children, cereal, Duh!).  Take a nice long HOT bath, and enjoy my nice quiet empty house.

Then as we scurried about to get ready for school, we go to brush teeth this morning and guess what?  THE PIPES ARE FROZEN!  That's right.  We have no water this morning!  It's that cold in FL.  Look, I know you all are saying "She is never happy, just last week she was begging for some snow."  Ok, look.  I  wanted a WHITE Christmas.  I still wouldn't mind seeing some white stuff.  BUT, we just get this frigid cold and nothing to go with it.  That SUCKS.

It's like getting all hot and bothered on a date and then getting to the door and not even so much as a good night peck on the cheek!  Mother Nature is a tease.  Now I know that my buddies Daff and Erin are saying SHE (Mama Nature) is a dirty whore right about now, not a tease.   I know you girls are feeling a little more than a tit bit nipply!

But, girls, I HAVE NO WATER.  It won't be above freezing for hours.  So, if anybody needs me.......I will be sitting in the silence, with no water, unable to bathe, brush teeth, or make coffee.  So my day of bliss.....

FAIL!

EVEN people in CALIFORNIA are cold.  Like my buddy Meeko.  He is so cold he has to wear his Monkey Slippers to work.  (I may have made that part up, but go see him.  Why?  BECAUSE I SAID SO, he's funny.  AND I, yes THINK TANK MOMMA will win some Starbuck's!  Just think, then when the water freezes again I can just go use my pretty little gift card from Meeko!)

well, that's kind of a big suckfest, isn't it? it's pretty freaking cold in NC and I'm not happy about it...i moved south to avoid this kind of crap.

hope your water starts working soon!

The kids still got to go to school, though, right? Imagine how much worse it would be if their school had been cancelled!

It's freezing here in NC, too. I hate this.

Friday morning our actual temp is supposed to be 0. And with the wind chill factored into that it will be between -15 to -25. This cold front sucks ass. I set up my coffee maker at night so that all I have to do is turn it on (or set the timer for it). I have actually been leaving our bathroom sinks running just a little (more than a drip) since it is so frickin cold.

wow, I didn't know it got that cold down there! It's 26 degrees here in Michigan.

My pipes freeze a couple of times every winter, which sucks, though I wouldn't have expected it in FL.

I feel your pain at least a few days out of the year.

Who knew the dirty south could get this cold? I remember living in SC as a kid and we got 6 inches of snow. We were bundled in at least 10 layers of cotton moisture absorbing clothes. I have never been as cold. Texas is a balmy 40 right now and only getting colder. Crazy!!

No water is fail. That is for sure. But hey... atleast it's quiet. Enjoy your day.

The whole world is freezing right now. What the heck. So we start off the new year with ONCE IN A BLUE moon and now it's like hell froze over. I really hope it warms up soon. We live here in Colorado so it usually COLD. But...man this is just crazy overall. I cannot imagine those people who got 55 inches of snow!!! That is almost as tall as me!

Sounds like an excellent reason to get back in bed! That would make me super jealous as I sit at work with my coat on my feet trying to keep them warm.

No water would suck! Geez...that's no good!!! You don't realize how much you depend on your running water until its not there for you to use and you're trying to spitwash out of a plastic water bottle.

Erin does have it bad!!

Holy cow!

I didn't know that was possible down there.

Up here, it happens occasionally, if you forget to drip your water when it drops below zero.

But it Florida?!?!!

Since it usually doesn't get that cold down there, your pipes probably aren't protected.

It's freezing here too. What is up with this friggin weather!! I let my sink drip...of course, we wouldn't have frozen because of all the toilet flushing going on around this house last night.

Not to make you too jealous, but we're supposed to get some of the white stuff tomorrow! I'm wicked excited about it!

It's just like I was in high school. Always hoping the snow would get us out of school, but I know now, I don't wanna make it up in June!

NO water? I think the earth is readying itself for the zombie apocalypse.

Zombies love cold weather.

It is ridiculously cold as hell over here! It's near impossible to look cute when you go out at night! :)

You might as well exercise now since you're already stinky.

I'm jealous that your kids are in school. Mine have been off for 2 days due to snow.

If you have pipes that you can get to you actually need to try to thaw them out a bit. If they freeze too much the pipes could burst and then you would really have a mess. Trust me. It's not fun.

Hair dryers, little space heaters, etc. Not sure what the set up is of your house, but if you have a crawl space where the pipes are then you might consider the above.

Then again maybe I'm just being over protective & maybe it's suppose to warm up there today.

we have snow. we're getting more snow today. my kids are home AGAIN and will most likely be home AGAIN tomorrow. we're getting closer and closer to no spring break at all. you know, when the weather is warm and you can actually go outside and do things. nice, huh?

Florida is like that smarmy lil bastard in your grade school class that everyone hated, with it's misleading name

I dialed a phone with my nips today thats how cold it was, true story...

No coffee? Eff. That.

MJenks said...

Yeah, brutally cold temperatures without snow is kind of like getting a blow job and then not being allowed to finish.

KristinFilut said...

Yikes! That seriously BLOWS CHUNKS!!! I cannot imagine frozen pipes!

It's a heatwave here today, a whopping 13 degress outside! That's almost 30 degrees warmer than it's been...

And thank the Lord the kids went back to school. They're getting close to unbearable. As you know, I'm finding things to get mad about when the little monsters aren't even here!

A little cold weather makes the exercise sweeter. Good luck, and keep the faith on your sensible eating, you will do well!

I heard last night we are supposed to get another cold front.....happy happy joy joy.....how am I supposed to know when one ends and the other starts?!?!

Iva Messy said...

its cold in SF Bay too!! {cold....but not TOOO cold!! sorry!!}

GunDiva said...

drollgirl, you may just get your ass kicked admitting you're someplace warm while the rest of us are freezing our arses off. Snow started today in CO, but the *cold* weather is due in tomorrow. Damn. I hate it when it's that cold and my pipes freeze every damn time it gets below zero, even with the heat tape, extra insulation and a shop light on the pipes. I have to basically leave the water running full blast (not a drip) to prevent freezing at night. Grrr...or should I say Brrr?

carissajaded said...

It's cold in TX too!!! I sorry you are without water. That kind of sucks balls!

We keep our water on at a trickle to prevent the no water fiasco! Been there too many times.

I enjoyed my heavenly silent bath and naked Yoga yesterday after the kids and hubs were gone. It was GREAT!

What is it, freezing all over the world or something? All I hear is cold this and cold that. Now don't get me wrong. In Holland it's friggin' frrrrrrrrrrrreezing, in fact I think it's colder than it's been in decades! And you know something funny? We had snow before Christmas but during Christmas it had already melted, then we had snow again AFTER New Year's!

Good luck with the water, though, can't you unfreeze... like... some ice cubes or something (lol)? Or set the damn pipes on fire?

You're right, Mother Nature IS a tease!!!

Dual Mom said...

Huh....I had no idea this was an issue in Florida.

Hopefully they thawed quickly. Don't suppose crawling under the house with a hairdryer is an option?

Anonymous said...

Damn. NO coffee? Holy hell.

So are you going to have to go buy gallons and gallons of water to bathe and brush your teeth or what?

Sucky, Sucky!!

Unknown said...

Dude, you shoulda kept your water trickling overnight!

I hope everyone brushed their teeth without water....NO water is NO excuse! LOL

And yes, we are freezing our buns off. Tomorrow's high is in single digits and snow is dumping on us again. I have to go shovel out a new poop circle for the dog now. Bye.

MrsBlogAlot said...

It is freezing here also. What the hell is happening? But despite the sorry ass weather there, I am still determined to move back to Florida! Coupla dead oranges won't scare me (but not having water might)

I hope it warms up soon for you and your pipes soon!!!!!

the best part of no water and no heat is no sweat so no stinky!

OMG, I can't believe it's that cold in Florida! Your pipes are frozen! What a drag, yes, a little problem like that certainly points out in a hurry how dependent we are on running water. Hope it's back to normal quickly!

I went without Hot Water from April to August one year. That's like our cold time.

I did it because I'm hardcore (and I forgot to call my landlord at lunch time every day at lunch because that's the only time it suits to call them)
