The Many Faces of Motherhood

Monday, April 19, 2010

As you all know, I have a propensity to give out monikers.  Well, it's a family trait I suppose.  I've said before I have a couple of nicknames that the boys (including BDC) like to use to refer to me.  Today they added to the list.  My boys, they really love me.

So I thought I would share the many faces and names of my motherhood.

Rob Mom Zombie
This is a  new one.  Since the baby has made her arrival, I have been running on empty.  So, as I walk, and breathe, and sleep standing up, I have become Mom Zombie according the boys.  I am certain all moms can identify with this one.

Identifiers:
No Sleep
The Walking Dead
Could Eat the Face off ALL Family Members

GODMomZilla
Momzilla is a beastly Mother.  She stomps through the house screaming with angry feet  and breathing fire.  MomZilla typically rears her head at least one week a month.

Identifiers:
Rage
Screaming
Jumping Down the Throats of the Innocent
Knocking Shit Over and Demanding The Innocent Clean it Up.

Mommalicious
This siren typically graces BDC with her presence on date nights.  When I walk out of the bedroom dressed for dates the boys call me Mommalicious.

Identifiers:
Real clothes (Any form of PJs do not qualify)
Hair did!
Makeup DONE!

Last but certainly not least...
Moms-a-lot
This is the face of Motherhood seen the most.  The short order cook, the chauffeur, the butt wiper, the keeper of the schedules, the homework helper, the discipline giver, the unappreciated, the grocery getter, the catch all.

Identifiers:
The Doer of all things MOM.
Requires copious amounts of Caffeine.

So tell me, what do yours call you?  What are the faces of your xxx-hood?

Great monikers. Especially the Mum Zombie one.

I love these. I find myself being Moms-a-lot a lot, but I'm working on being Mommalicious from time to time. I like that one!

If my kid started calling me Mom then we'd have some issues

*Sigh* I really need a cape. I think I could traverse life with much more fluidity if I had a cape....

Great job on the buttons B!
I am particularly fond of MomZilla... I think I have seen this Bish around here a few times.

Being called "Mother" instead of Mom is usually an indication that I am being a little uptight and pissy. Imagine that??

Yay you're back!! :)
You have some seriously creative kids over there....Mom Zombie? I can't yet relate to it, but I love it.

Love the buttons you made!

Mine will goose-step, salute and shout, "Heil, Mutti." It seems much like your MomZilla description, except, it happens around the time I *need* sleep. Caffeine only makes me feel queasy and shaky at that time, and I *need* to crash but can't. (see your description of a Mom Zombie above. ;))

I love these! I'd like to think of myself as mommalicious.

Maybe you can make a denialicious one for me?

Love it. My kids are too little for such cleverness, but they understand Momzilla all too well on certain days.

OMG, I'm all of em except for mommalicious. How sad is that?
I mostly resemble a "hippmomapus" though.

Awesome! I remember my MomZombie days! Don't miss those. Mine are still pretty young to have nicknames for me yet. So far the cutest is when they call me by my first name. Still learning basic vocabulary but can pronounce Jessica with perfect clarity! LOL! Kids rock!
