Williams-Sonoma Cookbooks Giveaway June 3-8

Thursday, June 3, 2010

* This is not a sponsored giveaway.  I did not receive these items for a review or giveaway.  I will be providing these cookbooks for this giveaway as a charitable donation to a great cause.*

Welcome to Think Tank Momma's DUCK FEST Giveaway

As my Smacker's know, I love to cook.  I have enjoyed sharing recipes with you these last couple of weeks through Share a Spoon.  Those recipes were all mine.  For this giveaway, I thought I would share some more well known recipes, and offer up two cookbooks from Williams-Sonoma.

This week's Share a Spoon theme was Comfort Food in honor of Daffy.
The first cookbook is Comfort Foods to go right along with that theme.
(Valued at $34.95 plus shipping)
The other cookbook is Cupcakes.  In honor of JD who this auction/raffle is for.
Really, is there any happier confection than a cupcake?
I don't think there is.  I love cupcakes.  Kids love cupcakes.
 (Valued at $18.95 plus shipping)
So my lovely Smackers, join me from June 3rd - June 8th.  Each entry is just $1.00.  All proceeds go directly to the JD Scholarship Fund.  Winners will be drawn at random from random.org.  I will ship directly to each winner from Williams-Sonoma.

Let me know which book you are most interested in, in the comments.

DUCK FEST

is

ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!

Alright Smackers, you know I have a flair for the dramatic.  I had to add some flair of my own to this FEST OF FEATHERS!

BACKGROUND:

So here is the deal...My BFF, THE DUCK from BATCRAP CRAZY lost her sister recently.  (If you didn't know, you have been living under a rock, just sayin'.)  BigSis was diagnosed with a benign(non cancerous) brain tumor.  Scheduled for surgery.  Before she could have the surgery to remove the tumor she suffered a major stroke and passed away due to complications of the stroke.  All of this was very quick and very tragic.  BigSis left behind a loving family and a husband and 5yr old son.   In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to a scholarship fund for 5yr old JD, as part of his mother's legacy.

DUCK FEST...FESTIVAL OF FEATHERS....DOIN' THE DUCK...SEXY SEXY
Here is the dealio....there are a gazillion giveaways for some REALLY GREAT STUFF.

How do you participate?  DONATE $1.00 per entry for items of your choice.  There are a lot of things to choose from.  I got my eye on SEVERAL!

So...here is the other thing that is important.  We are using random.org to generate the winners.  THAT MEANS if you donate $20 and you want all of it to go to one item, you have to leave 20 comments for that item.  I know that is silly, but that is the way random.org works.  Don't miss you chance to win the item you want.

There are some FABULOUS things up for grabs....

There is a TUPPERWARE Chef Series Oval Roaster donated by Pixie Momma and I so want that bad boy!

My baby sister is offering a PERSONALIZED CROCHETED BABY BLANKET that is unbelievable!  I have seen these type blankets at craft shows go for over $100 and the quality isn't even close to what she does.
Ed over at The Currently Closed Funny Pages is offering one of his STICKMAN creations for your blog.  I know I will be donating a few $$ for this!

SO...those are my favorites.  What are yours??

Check out all the links.  Especially my cook book offering (wink wink) and come back tomorrow and get what you want.  Duck Fest runs June 3rd-8th.  We will draw winners on the 9th.  If you don't have your email viewable, leave it in the comments where you enter.  If we can't contact you?  You CAN'T WIN!

SO REMEMBER $1 + 1 Comment = 1 entry

See you around the pond tomorrow.  I will be swimming my way through the giveaways.

Now, this part is important.  Leave a comment for every entry.  Random.org is being used by everyone participating in Duck Fest.
If you donate $20 and you want all your entries to go towards these packages leave 20 comments.  That's the way random.org works.

Now check out all the other great giveaways linked below.

HAPPY DUCK FEST

Quack Open Your Hearts at Duck Fest

Thursday, May 27, 2010

DUCK FEST is supporting our fellow blog bud, and my BBFF Daffy. She is setting up the JD Scholarship Fund in honor of her sister, Wendy. JD is Daffy's 5 year old nephew who just lost his mother suddenly, last week. Every parent strives to give the best to their child and as a single father, sending JD to college will be difficult.

I spent almost nine years as a single parent, and I know how difficult it can be to be both mom and dad to your child(ren).  You want to give them everything and try so hard to make sure that they don't want for anything to compensate for the loss of the other parent.  DUCK FEST will one day give JD and his dad hope. That the generosity of strangers helped get him to college, and a community banded together for him and his family during a very difficult time.

DUCK FEST will begin on June 3rd. This day will be very difficult for Daffy and her family as it would have been Wendy's 36th birthday.

Donating to a good cause has never been more fun! Come back June 3rd and check out all the participating bloggers and their giveaways that will be listed!

What is DUCK FEST?

DUCK FEST is a blog party fundraising event to raise money for the JD Scholarship Fund. It runs June 3 - 8 right here in the blogosphere!

How does DUCK FEST work?

By using the McLinky at the bottom of this page, you are able to visit a number of giveaways to raise money for the JD Scholarship Fund. If you find a giveaway you'd like to enter, beginning June 3, you can click on the donate button on that giveaway and donate money for entries. Each entry is $1.00. If you donate $10.00 you have 10 entries to spend however you want. Please follow the PayPal directions for your donation (be sure to leave your blog url in notes for verification!) To enter, leave a comment for each $1.00 donation on the giveaways of your choice!
On June 9, each hosting blog will select their winners using random.org.

How can I participate?

Do you have a skill or talent you'd like to showcase? Do you rub elbows with PR firms, have advertisers or sponsors that would support the cause? You are more than welcome to host a giveaway at your blog! Do you have product you'd like to donate, but don't have an outlet to run a giveaway? We're happy to host it for you! If you'd like to participate, send an email to me - That One Mom at thatonemom.onlyparentchronicles@gmail.com OR to Tamara at cheapskatemom@live.com.

What if I would just like to donate money and not worry about prizes?

That is perfectly fine! Just click on the donate button in the side bar. All donations go directly to the JD Scholarship Fund!

In the meantime, grab a button and spread the word!! Word of mouth is key to making DUCK FEST a success!
