I wear my sunglasses at night

Monday, May 3, 2010

We had a big weekend here at Casa di Romano.  We celebrated Kooper's birthday.  Kooper invited a friend to spend the night and go to the movies.  BDC and I loaded up four boys and the baby and went to take in a Real 3D version of The Clash of The Titans.

The boys sat at the top of the theater, far away from me and BDC who sat near the bottom in case we had to take out the baby.  They felt so grown up.  Their kids packs in hand, glasses on, and essentially no parents hovering.

BDC and I sat together sharing our popcorn.  For those of you who haven't been to a new Real 3D movie, I highly recommend.  The old 3D sucked.  You know the crappy movies where at suspenseful parts something would fly out of the screen at you.  This is not that 3D!  It's all growed up.  Anyfastflyingobject, during the previews there is an announcement to put your glasses on now.  I am drinking my Diet Coke, eating popcorn, enjoying the preview for the new Shrek 3D flick and BDC leans over and whispers, "Hey does the screen look all fucked up to you?"

I look at him and think to myself, "Yeah, real funny jackass."  He has his sunglasses on.  But I looked and his face was grimaced a bit and I realize that he isn't being funny, he's just a jackass.  I say out loud..."Uh...dear, you are wearing your sunglasses!"  We both started laughing so hard we almost fell out of our seats.  Enough to get some dirty looks and a "shhhhh...." from the crowd.

Afterward, we came on home and had a little impromptu gathering with my sister and her hubby.  His birthday was Sunday.  BDC and BIL proceeded to indulge in Liquid Truth, play Rock Band and hang with the boys.  Sis and I went to the store while the boys were playing then came back and set her up a blog!  Woot!

That's right, my baby sister is going to blog now too.  If you want to check it out she will post her first post tomorrow.  Go follow her, you won't be disappointed.

OH...and big news!  We have a winner over at the LIB blog!  I am so happy for our winner!  Go check it out and leave the winner some congrats!

Ha! on the sunglasses. That is so what I would do.

Are you sure no liquid truth was smuggled into the theater?

So, what did you think of the movie? My son and I both want to see it.

Hilarious! Someone needs to take into consideration that some of us wear glasses and therefore need slightly bigger 3D glasses to go over our prescription glasses!

OMG! BDC and you at the movies...crack up about the sunglasses thing. LMAO.

I'm with Big Sis...how was the movie?

Love the new 3D movies. We saw our 1st one last year with my toddler (Monsters vs Aliens) and it was just do cool!

Just saw 'Alice in Wonderland' in 3D and that just made the movie.

Though I hate paying the inflated price for the 3D tickets!! Yuck!

Ugh...really should re-read my comments.

Meant to write 'too cool' instead of 'do cool'. What is that??? LOL

I noticed that with the 3D in How to train a dragon...it's not the cheesy throw something at ya thing. I liked it. :)

Hooray for your sis starting a blog! I'll have to go over and give that a looksee. :)

I haven't seen a 3-D movie in the theater since I was a little kid. I'd love to go check one out. Hahaha I can't believe BDC got his glasses mixed up! Awesome.

I would never let him live it down that he put on his sunglasses. I'd bring it up all. the. time.

You see any movie that requires me to use a device to watch it?

Thumbs down.

Yes, I'm being closed-minded about 3-D movies.

It's one of my few (ahem) faults.

3D makes me a little nauseus but I SO want to see Clash of the Titans! What is Liquid Truth ? Does that just mean they were drinking?

Hahahaha That's classic. I wonder how 3D glasses and sunglasses together would look.

I've never been to a 3D cinema, so maybe I should give it a shot.

Disappointed with Cash of the Titans...bit of a crapper. Though somehow we managed to get the 2 year old and baby to sit through it woo hoo!

3D has gotten so much better though!

"Hey does the screen look all fucked up to you?"
buaaahahahahahahhaaa...!!!!!

I've been to the Imax 3D in Fort Worth, TExas...best 3D theater in my opinion. It's a big as sphere, and the movie covers the entire inside of the sphere... You feel really inside! The chairs have handles so you can hang on to in case you fall of dizziness.
