Apparently I am easily replaced

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

When Kooper was little one time, as is the norm, I was the butt of one of his and BDC's jokes.  They were having fun at my expense.  Talking about ways to get rid of me and the like.  I remember telling my son who was about three at the time that he would miss me, if for no other reason than I am the sole cook in the family.  He piped up and said "It's o.k., we'll just get a Robot Mommy."

At first I was crushed that my baby was not more attached to me.  It's been a running joke so long now that I just blow it off when they threaten to off me to replace me with a robot mommy.  But, lately the boys have all been way into my cooking.  They have a few house favorites that I don't think they are willing to live without.

So the other night I am making one of Kooper's favorite dishes.  He asks me all sweet and innocent like if I will write the recipe down for him.  He has his own cookbook.  He spent a year going to Young Chefs Academy.  He enjoyed it, and it was a great way for us to get a kid who normally won't eat anything that isn't meat or potatoes, to at least try other things.  He did at least try everything they made.  So I told him I would write the recipe down at some point for him.

He says, "O.K., but Mom, we are really going to need those recipes to upload to our Robot Mommy if something happens to you.  So could you do it sooner than later?"

I turn to give him a dirty look and he is bent over doubled laughing at me.

Don't you wish you were loved as much as me?

Don't forget to link up tomorrow!  What's for lunch?  Share your lunch recipes!

Men and their funny bones...you could break 'em if you want. One. Two. Chop.

Wait...that would only get you arrested. How about ExLax in their meals...

Oh. Well. Gotta love 'em.

Ahhh, I missed you while I was without a computer. So, even if the little devil spawn want to replace you with a Robot Mommy, know that the blogosphere will miss you.

Just think of all the great stuff you'll get to do FOR YOU when they get a Robot Mommy - no more laundry, housecleaning, cooking. Dang, I think I'm starting to get jealous.

These little boys of ours are welcome to take a long walk off a short pier. Jason would find this same thing sooooooooooooo funny.

I'm impressed with his knowledge of uploading information. Other than that...what a little stinker!

I'm betting that Robot Mommy will be a joke for life. :)

Pinkus would gladly replace me as long as that robot doesn't yell, nag or harp on his lazy ass.

Awesome kids! You did well. Love, humor, and I'm sure you have taught them many other things I consider makes a wonderful human being.

Robot Mommy...they only joke because they know that you will be there, so they feel like they can take you for granted. Really, they would be lost without you.

I'm feeling like a sucky blog friend this week. Family in town, trying to beat my spirit down, so well, I suck.

But, I loves ya and I'll be back to my old self by next week.

I want a robot mommy! For real! She can do the boring OCD stuff that I do all day long and I can chill on the couch and eat bon bons. Sounds good to me.
